Selected by John MacLellan, Distilled and Matured at Bunnahabhain Distillery, where John was Distillery manager.

Times move on, and John is now Distillery manager at Kilchoman, so he’s grabbed his cask back from Bunnahabhain, paid the transfer fees, and has bottled this wonderful dram.

Edward and I were lucky enough to have a dram of this with John at his home on Islay, right after Kilchoman’s Feis Ile open day, we were very honoured!

Sherry Cask matured and heavily peated.

A light Islay Dram.

Tasting Notes:
Colour – Pale gold.
Nose – Salty and sweet with an underlying smokiness. Cured meat aromas with cooking apples and dried figs.
Palate – Smoky and sweet initially on the palate, with melon and apricot flavours and a milk chocolate edge.
Body – Medium
Finish – Medium and smoky

Cask type – Refill Sherry Butts.

Distilled at Bunnahabhain Distillery, matured and bottled by Gordon & MacPhail.

One of our favourites from the Feis Ile.

Tales of the Sea, the meaning in English from the Gaelic ‘Sgeul Na Mara’ and they had a brilliant T-shirt at the festival, which was a must purchase too!
